Vietnamese Coffee, But Make It Autumn

October comes around, the weather gets a little cooler (well… Dubai cooler), and suddenly pumpkin spice is everywhere.

We love a cosy autumn drink as much as anyone, but for our first autumn at Ca Phin, we wanted to do it a little differently.

No pumpkin. Instead, we looked back to Vietnam — and found our inspiration in something warm, aromatic, and very familiar.

The smell that feels like home

If you've ever walked past a steaming bowl of phở in Vietnam, you'll probably recognize the aroma before you even see it.

Star anise, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves are some of the spices that give the broth its warm, unmistakable fragrance. And when we started thinking about autumn flavours, we realised they had everything we were looking for: warmth, spice, sweetness and a little nostalgia.

So we took that inspiration and turned it into our own house-made spiced syrup.

Don't worry — there's no actual phở in your coffee. 😋

From phở spices to coffee

The fun part was figuring out what those flavours could become behind the bar.

Paired with Vietnamese coffee, the spices bring out its deeper, richer notes and make a latte feel instantly cosier. With matcha, they become softer and earthier. And with our homemade chocolate, you get something rich, sweet and warming.

That became our autumn trio: Spiced Latte, Spiced Matcha and Spiced Choco — each finished with a torched marshmallow on top, because autumn deserves a little extra.

Autumn, the Ca Phin way

Seasonal coffee in Dubai doesn't have to mean pumpkin spice.

For us, creating seasonal drinks is a chance to take something familiar and look at it through a Vietnamese lens — whether that's an ingredient, a flavour, a memory or something we grew up around.

So this October, we're bringing a little Vietnamese warmth to Dubai's slightly less-hot autumn.
